Indooroopilly Montessori Children's House

Organisational Structure

The Centre is owned by the Trustees of the Christian Brothers (Qld) and receives no Federal or State Government Grants, relying totally on the payment of fees for the running of the Centre. Whilst privately owned, Childcare Benefits are available to families attending the Centre.

The day to day running of the Centre is the responsibility of the two Directors, as IMCH holds a dual licence with two 75 place Centres under the one roof-line.  Currently the Centre Manager is Carmel Ellis and she is responsible for the overall management, administration and education programme of the whole Centre.  Carmel is also the Director of Centre A and Cheryl Ware the Director for Centre B.

The Directors and Assistant Directors of the Centre meet regularly with the Parent Club executive to discuss policy and specific operational and environmental matters.

The Board

A Board is appointed by the Trustees of the Christian Brothers (Qld). The Board has delegated responsibility from the Trustees for oversight of mission, finances, strategic and master planning and policy compliance. The Directors are ex officio members of the Board, which is not representative. It consists of up to ten members and brings together expertise from the IMCH community and beyond to support the work of the Centre. Board members are appointed for a term of 3 years. The Chair is appointed by the Trustees. The Board will meet up to six (6) times a year.

Edmund Rice Australia

 Edmund Rice Education

Edmund Rice Education Australia was established by the Christian Brothers in 2007 to continue the Catholic Church's mission of providing quality catholic education in 40 schools located in all states of Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.

Today these 40 schools together with Nudgee International College and now Indooroopilly Montessori Children's House are governed nationally by the Edmund Rice Education Australia Board through a National Executive based in Richmond Melbourne.

There are regional Centres in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth that support the schools and entities within their regional context.  The 40 schools, including IMCH, operate within a framework of common values and are linked through their commitment to the Charter for Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition.

Missioned by the Catholic Church through excellence in Catholic Education, Edmund Rice Australia will transform the minds and hearts of young Australians to build a more just, tolerant and inclusive community.
